Are images, fonts, and styles included?
Yes. Each backup copies the images, stylesheets, and fonts the pages use into an assets folder and rewrites the pages to point at them, so a page opens offline and looks like the original.
For every public page we save, we also fetch what the page needs to look right:
- Images, including the largest version from responsive image sets, from your domain and from the Squarespace CDN.
- Stylesheets, including the ones they import, and the images and fonts referenced inside them.
- Fonts, from your site and from Google Fonts.
Each file is saved once, even when many pages use it, under a name made of a short code and the original file name. The HTML and CSS are rewritten to point at those local files, so html/about.html opens with its pictures and typefaces without an internet connection.
What stays remote: scripts (a copy of Squarespace's JavaScript would not run usefully offline), videos hosted on YouTube or Vimeo, and files larger than 25 MB. Those keep their original links.
Squarespace doesn't give you a copy of your site. We do: every public page, full-page screenshots, images and fonts, in your inbox on the 1st.
