We back up what visitors can already see. The crawler fetches your public pages the same way a browser does, so there is nothing to log in to and nothing for us to store.
Yes. Each site on your dashboard has a "Back up now" button, once a day per site. The copy lands in a few minutes and shows what changed since the last one.
Open the page's HTML file or its screenshot from the backup, then rebuild the page in Squarespace by copying the text and re-uploading the images. There is no one-click restore into Squarespace.
No. Squarespace has no import for HTML pages, from us or from anyone. A backup is the material for rebuilding a page or a site by hand, and a record of what was there.
Open the html folder and search the page files for a phrase, or open the assets folder and sort by name. Each backup is a snapshot of one month, so open the month you need.
Every public page a visitor can reach, found through your sitemap and by following links between your pages, however many there are, up to 4 GB per backup. Login-only pages, drafts, and admin screens are not included.
No. We only see what a visitor sees, so pages behind a password or a member login are not in the backup. Public pages are.

The site has more than 5,000 public pages, or its content passed 4 GB, or the crawl ran past its time limit. The backup still holds everything captured up to that point, and pages.txt shows exactly what is in it.
Yes. Both versions serve normal public pages, and the crawler works from what visitors see. The theme report shows which version and template hints it detected.
Yes. Any public website can be backed up the same way. Squarespace is what we know best and what the theme report is tuned for, but the pages, screenshots, and assets come from what the site serves.
Yes. Each backup copies the images, stylesheets, and fonts the pages use into an assets folder and rewrites the pages to point at them, so a page opens offline and looks like the original.
Once a day we load your homepage. If it fails twice, a minute apart, you get one email with your latest backup, and one more when the site is back.
Every backup is compared with the one before it. The email and the dashboard say which pages were added, removed, or edited, and the archive page lists them.
Open the link in any backup email, or go to the Log in page, enter the email you used at checkout, and we send a fresh private link. There is no password.
Cancel with one click in the dashboard. Backups stop at the end of the paid period, your existing backups stay downloadable for 30 days after that, and a request inside the first 30 days gets a full refund.
Cancel the current plan in the dashboard and start the other one from the pricing section. Your backups carry over as long as you use the same email and site address.
Yes. Each plan covers one site address. Start a plan per site with the same email and they all show in one dashboard.
Monthly emails can be switched off in the dashboard; backups keep running. To change the address itself, write to us and we move the plan.
A designer code takes half off a client's first year of the yearly plan. Designers get one, plus their own site backed up free, from the designer page.
Stripe emails a receipt for every payment to the address you used at checkout. If you need an invoice with a company name and address, ask us and we send one.
Only someone with your private link. Backups live in private storage, downloads go through links that expire within an hour, and we never publish or index anything.
Twelve months on an active plan, and the newest backup is never removed. After you cancel, everything stays downloadable for 30 days past the paid period, then it is deleted.
Open the dashboard and click Delete next to the backup. The file is removed from storage right away and cannot be recovered.
