Can You Export a GoDaddy Website Builder Site?

No. At the time of writing, GoDaddy's Website Builder does not export a site in any form. There is no download of the pages, the design, or the images, and no transfer to another host. GoDaddy's own help articles say as much, and the answer has not changed in years.

What you can get out

• Your domain. If it is registered with GoDaddy, it is yours to point anywhere. That is separate from the Website Builder plan.
• Online store data. Products and orders can be exported as files if you use the store feature.
• Appointments and contacts, as files, from the respective dashboards.
• The public pages, by copying them yourself. Everything a visitor sees can be saved.

Copying the public pages

A crawl of the live site gives you each page as HTML, the images and fonts it uses, and, if the crawler uses a real browser, a full-page screenshot of each page. Moving to another builder

Nothing imports a GoDaddy Website Builder site, so a move is a rebuild:

1. Take a complete copy of the public pages while the site is live.
2. Build the new site with each page's screenshot and text beside you. The copy's images are the largest sizes the old site served.
3. Set up redirects from old addresses to new ones if the paths change.
4. Point the domain at the new site last, then let the GoDaddy plan end.

Keep the Website Builder plan running until the new site is finished. Once it lapses, there is nothing left to copy.

Q: Can I move my GoDaddy website to WordPress?

Only by rebuilding it. There is no importer. A copy of the public pages makes the rebuild a matter of copying rather than rewriting.
