GoDaddy's Website Builder hosts your site and cannot export it. We save every public page as HTML with a full-page screenshot, plus the images and fonts it uses, and email you a private link. No GoDaddy login needed.
Saved 6:02 AM. Nothing for you to do. Kept for 12 months, so open it whenever you need it.
GoDaddy's Website Builder, the product sold as Websites + Marketing, does not export a site. At the time of writing there is no download of your pages, design, or images, and no way to move the site to another host. The site exists as long as the plan is paid, on GoDaddy's servers, and nowhere else.
That is fine until one of three things happens: the plan lapses and the site goes offline, the account is lost to a former employee or designer, or you decide to move to another builder and discover there is nothing to move.
A monthly copy of every public page, stored outside GoDaddy, gives you the pages, the look, and the images to rebuild anywhere, and it needs no login.

Three things that happen to ordinary websites.
The card on file expires, or the login belongs to someone who left. The site goes dark and GoDaddy has nothing for you to download. Last month's copy is still in your inbox.
Someone rearranges the homepage and publishes. There is no version history to roll back to. Open last month's page beside the live one and put it back.
Every page as HTML and a screenshot, with the images at the largest size the site served. Hand the folder to whoever builds the next site.
Four things a zip in a drawer cannot do.
Once a day we load your homepage. If it fails twice, a minute apart, you get one email with your latest backup, and one more when it is back.
Every backup is compared with the one before: pages added, removed, and edited, listed in the email. You see edits you did not make.
About to redesign, or hand the site to someone? One click on your dashboard makes a fresh copy first. Once a day per site.
Next to the HTML and screenshots, a Markdown file per page: headings, paragraphs, links, and image descriptions, ready to paste into whatever comes next.
Backups are plain HTML, JPEG, and font files in ordinary folders, with the pages wired to their own images and stylesheets. Double-click and they open in any browser, on any computer, with no software from us. Download the lot whenever you like.
We never ask for your GoDaddy password. We read the public pages a visitor would see, and nothing else: no orders, no customer data, no drafts. You can delete any backup permanently, whenever you want.
Cancel from one button in your account. No email, no retention call. Full refund inside 30 days, and your backups stay downloadable for another 30 after you go.
Start with a free backup you can open today. Keep it going for the price of one client lunch a year.
First backup starts right after checkout. The next one goes out on the 1st.
